Please note that we do our best to keep this calendar up-to-date but with so much going on at Claremont, we occasionally drop the ball. It’s unlikely for example that we’ll be quick enough to change the timetable if a tutor cancels at short notice. If you want to be certain about a class running and in which hall, please call us! Things to bring with you: Everything is provided.
Class Summary: Claremont’s Reading Group is a group of passionate readers, led and facilitated by Anna. Anna selects a book to read inspired by a theme, author, specific historical time or literature movement. Some of the members of the reading group have participated in live readings and have contributed to Claremont’s performances. The group has previously worked on Homer’s Odyssey, Edward Lear’s Limericks, Angela Carter’s Bloody Chamber and John Steinbeck’s The Pastures of Heaven. The group is also very keen to invite authors to some of their sessions and discuss their works and careers (in the past they have hosted amazing writers such as Penelope Lively and Cicely Herbert).
