Royal National Institute of Blind People: Educational Talk & Workshop

Please note that we do our best to keep this calendar up-to-date but with so much going on at Claremont, we occasionally drop the ball. It’s unlikely for example that we’ll be quick enough to change the timetable if a tutor cancels at short notice. If you want to be certain about a class running, please call us! Tel: 020 7837 3402. Please also note that tickets bought online for our classes are non-refundable, for that day/class class only, and cannot be used for a different day or carried forward to another class!

Royal National Institute of Blind People: Educational Talk & Workshop

February 28, 2024 - 3:30 pm

About the event

RNIB, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, is the UK’s leading sight loss charity. They offer practical and emotional support to blind and partially sighted people, their families and carers. They raise awareness of the experiences of blind and partially sighted people and campaign for change to make our society more accessible for all. They want to change our world so there are no barriers to people with sight loss.

Join RNIB Community Connection Coordinator Uzma Galiara for this informative and casual session. Open to all, this session will include:

  • A volunteer sharing their sight loss journey
  • Brief description of RNIB services and leaflet sharing
  • Myth busting quiz about sight loss
  • Discussion on interacting and communicating with blind and partially sighted people
  • Discussion on the equipment and adaptations that people with sight loss use to live independently
  • Product demonstrations
  • Q and A.
